There’s a lot more to Coachella than just the music; Coachella has become a popular event to express fashion, bohemian-inspired fashion to be specific. The inspiration behind the theme of most of the outfits being worn at Coachella came from the environment itself: the desert. Some of the fashion trends that are bound to be seen at Coachella are fringe, sunglasses, flower crowns, floppy hats, and lots of crazy jewelry.

Although it is not confirmed that “Coachella Queen” Vanessa Hudgens created the trend, she did have a big impact on it. Coachella goers tend to look to Hudgens for fashion inspiration. She is an avid Coachella attendee, and she sets the bar for “trendiest outfits.”

“If I had to describe Coachella fashion through one person, it’d be her!” says sophomore Nicole Viera. “She just knows how to put pieces together so well.” Viera also states that Hudgens can make an appealing piece of clothing or accessory look good.

Her Coachella look has evolved through the years. Starting with a spaghetti strap graphic camisole that stated “Some Crazy Thing” with a pair of denim white shorts in 2009 to a red, black, and beige tribal printed romper with a big, floppy hat, orange reflective sunglasses, and black booties with silver coins dangling on the ankles in 2014. It clearly became very detailed.

It seems like fans aren’t the only ones she inspires fashion wise; her boyfriend Austin Butler was inspired as well. In 2014 Butler wore blue printed harem pants, a white buttoned up shirt, a fedora, and of course, a pair of Ray Ban Clubmasters.

He was also seen wearing a low side cut black tank top, black cropped joggers, a flannel tied around his waist, and a black snapback worn backwards.

Celebrities other than Hudgens who sports the look at Coachella are the Jenner sisters: Kendall and Kylie. This year, Kendall wore a tan suede vest over a zebra striped bathing suit top paired with cut-off shorts and of course aviator sunglasses and extravagant jewelry.

On day two of the first weekend of Coachella, Kendall wore a white, off-the-shoulders crop top with a black maxi skirt with slits on both sides and accessorized with a braided headband and a body chain.

Kylie Jenner sported an all-white outfit. She wore a two piece textured crop top and high-waisted shorts with a white maxi sleeveless cardigan. She also paired the outfit with a suede beige baseball hat and gold jewelry.

Selena Gomez is another great example of demonstrating what Coachella style is. Although she unfortunately did not attend Coachella this year, she did sport great outfits the previous. Last year she attended Coachella with the Jenner sisters and wore a white maxi crochet dress with white denim shorts and a black top underneath. She accessorized with a floppy hat, sunglasses, and black combat boots.
