Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron film is set to premiere this summer.

This summer, Hollywood is about to roll in some of the hottest and the most anticipated films of 2015.

Varying in many genres from thrillers to fantasies to comedies, this summer is about to heat up for many fans and moviegoers alike.

On May 15, 2015, Pitch Perfect 2, a sequel to the musical film hit Pitch Perfect, is set to hit theaters. Twilight actress Anna Kendrick, Hairspray actress Brittany Snow, Bridesmaid actress Rebel Wilson, and others round out  the cast as they return for their second run in the franchise. The plot of the sequel according to IMDb is when, “A collegiate acappella group called the Barden Bellas enter into an international competition that no American team has ever won before.” Many other actresses and actors joined this sequel including Hailee Steinfeld, who will play a new member who joins the Bellas. Among the biggest stars joining the film is the band Pentatonix and the Green Bay Packers.

Another upcoming awaited sequel is The Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015. The Marvel Comics based film finds The Avengers fighting a new foe, Ultron, one of Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr) creations gone wrong who is determined to end the human race. Aaron Tyler Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen join the cast as Quicksilver and his sister, Scarlet Witch, who will be on Ultron’s side and be pitted against The Avengers. Junior Melissa Uyuni expressed her excitement in watching it for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch as she explained, “I heard through some of the comics that they are Magneto’s children, so I kind of want to see how everything is going to line up.” The sequel is action-packed with new locations, a surprising romance, and rumoured cameos to be made by other characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fun Fact, director and writer of The Avengers and its sequel Joss Whedon admitted to Vulture, “This was the hardest work I’ve ever done and at some point, when it’s that hard, you just feel like you’ve lost.”

On June 12, 2015, a fourth installment in the Jurassic Park movie series will be released titled Jurassic World. Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt will star as the protagonist with the film following the same pattern as the other franchises. As per se IMDb, “Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park (1993), Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor’s interest, which backfires horribly.”

Inside Out, a Pixar film for the family, is set to be shown on June 19, 2015. Inside Out is about five different emotions inside a girl’s head who want control after a game changing situation takes place. The different emotions are voiced by The Mindy Project’s Mindy Kaling (voicing Disgust), Parks and Recreation’s Amy Poehler (voicing Joy), Saturday Night Live’s Bill Hader (voicing Fear), The Daily Show’s Lewis Black (voicing Anger), and The Office’s Phyllis Smith (voicing Sadness). Junior Cecilia Martinez eagerly anticipates this upcoming film, “I’m looking forward to see how Pixar will send their main message to the audience within the storyline. It’s obvious that it’s about being happy, but I’m interested in how deep they’re going to get into it.”

Whether a person chooses to watch an action packed movie like The Avengers or see a film with their whole family such as Inside Out, going out to the movies this summer seems like a great idea with all the impressive movies coming out.
